This is a fun game that is becoming more popular by the moment. It can be played for fun or for money!
This version of the game is called Shut the Box Challanger Edition. It is adapted for the Blind. Each number tile has braille and the printed number on each tile is a larger font for easier recognization. Very solid game constructed of solid wood with a stained finish with and green felt in the dice play fields. Comes with braille dice.
The object of the game is to get a score lower than your challanger! Each player has numbers 1 through 9 on their side of the playing board. Players take turns rolling the dice and "Shuting" their numbers. For example if an 8 is rolled then the number can be shut off on the board or any numbers that add up to 8 such as a 6and a 2 or a 5, 2 and 1. The round ends when you or your challanger rolls a number that cannot be "shut" on their side of the board. Scoring: If a player has a 1 and a 9 left and rolls a 7, that number cannot be "shut". The player's score is 10. Add up the sum of the numbers that could not be shut for each player's score. when they cannot "shut" the numbered rolled. The lowest score wins!
The game can be played for fun or as a wagering game! Players can ante up a dollar amount; $1, $5, or $10. Sometimes players in a pub will wager a round of drinks paid for by the loser!
The game box is about 12 inches by 8.75 inches.
